If you're looking for a large & luxurious Red Sea liveaboard, MY Sea Story should be at the top of your list. This huge boat is 44 metres long and 9 metres wide. Unlike most other red Sea diving liveaboards, Sea Story has an extra deck of air-conditioned communal areas and guest cabins. It doesn't follow the standard format that most other boats do, and that gives you more space to relax on board, plus larger cabins. Sea Story was launched new in 2022 and currently sails to the northern wrecks of the Red Sea, plus into Ras Mohamed National Marine Park to dive at unspoilt reefs.
Sea Story is a very popular boat, and for good reason. Although being able to accommodate up to 36 guests sounds like a lot, it's important to understand the size of the boat, and how its decks are designed. There are 18 guest cabins, spread over three decks. All cabins have plenty of floor space, independently-controlled air conditioning, and a private en suite bathroom. 14 of the cabins have two single beds, side by side. And there are four Honeymoon Suites on the upper deck.
Starting with the uppermost deck of the boat, we have an exposed sundeck for those who want to top up a tan or gaze at the stars, plus shaded seating, and an area with glass walls which act as wind breakers. There's a Jacuzzi hot tub in the middle of the sundeck, for guests who just can't get enough time in the water! Finally, at the front of this uppermost deck is a small indoor area which is home to the boat's sauna. Yes, there's a sauna and a Jacuzzi on the top deck!
MY Sea Story's upper deck is home to six guest cabins, the huge indoor lounge saloon, and the outdoor relaxing social area. For some guests, this deck is where they will spend nearly all of their time on the boat. the views are great, the cabins large, and there are two vast socialising areas; one outside and one with air conditioning. It really is the most-luxurious deck you will find on almost any boat in the northern Red Sea. The cabins on this deck have large-sea-view windows, and doors that open out onto the deck, giving a wonderful welcome every morning. The lounge has a huge flat-screen tv and lots of soft and luxurious sofas and armchairs. The outdoor social area has plenty of soft seating and a bar, and of course wonderful views of the surrounding area.
The main deck of Sea Story has four twin-bed guest cabins at the front, and the huge dive platform at the rear. Located in the middle of the main deck is a large dining room restaurant, where delicious meals are served throughout each day or your cruise. The dining room also has a small area of sofas and armchairs and a large flat-screen tv. This is the ideal spot for a sit-down chat after a large and wonderful meal until you have the energy to walk to another part of the boat.
Finally, the lower deck of this wonderful boat is home to eight twin-bed guest cabins. Each cabin is well appointed with all the creature comforts and amenities that you would expect on a luxury cruise. Lots of floor and storage space, a private bathroom and air conditioning.
Diving from Sea Story is a wonderful experience, with most of its trips sailing around the north of Egypt's Red Sea. The boat normally sails out of Hurghada, offering week-long cruises to the best wrecks & reefs in the area. There are two large tender dingies to drop off or collect divers, and of course a Nitrox membrane system. The crew and dive staff are all hard working and service minded, to ensure that the diving and every activity and meal during the trip is safe & enjoyable.
