NEW White Manta is a brand-new (2019) luxury diving liveaboard that cruises the best dive sites of Indonesia. The huge ship is 46 metres long & 10 metres wide. And it was designed by divers, for divers. Luxury, convenience & safety perfectly complement the diving destinations, and the dedicated team ensure that everything runs seamlessly. No more than 22 lucky guests enjoy scheduled trips, but up to 32 can join full-charter private-group cruises.

There are 14 luxury guest cabins spread over three passenger decks on White Manta. The boat has a huge sun deck, and lots of large and comfortable communal areas, both inside and out. Plus a large, dedicated camera room for photography enthusiasts. Trips lengths are 6-11 nights, giving you plenty of time to fully enjoy the space, comfort and multiple dive sites. Don’t worry about missing loved ones or business, because this boat has satellite Wi-Fi 24 hours a day, at any location.

The guest cabins all have air-conditioning and private bathrooms with hot & cold fresh water showers. The average size of each cabin is 20 square metres, ensuring that there’s plenty of space to walk around and store your luggage. On scheduled trips no more than two guests share each cabin, but on full charters, up to three is possible. For divers who want to stay alone, the single-supplement rate on White Manta is just 10%, making it unbeatable value! There are four large cabins on the lower deck, strategically placed to maximise comfort and minimise roll or noise. Two are side-by-side twins, with large single beds, and two have a queen-size double bed plus a single bed. On White Manta’s main deck there are four more guest cabins. Again, there are two with twin beds, and these have the largest area of available floor space. Plus there are two which have a king-size double bed and a single. These two cabins can be configured to have three single beds for full charter trips. On the upper deck there are six guest cabins, which each have a queen-size double bed plus a single bed. Cabins on the main and upper decks have large windows, and the lower deck cabins have portholes. The prices are the same for every cabin, so allocation is on a first come first served basis. Single supplement guests are limited to two per deck, and subject to availability.

A dedicated camera room for photographers is becoming a necessity for scuba diving liveaboards nowadays, and White Manta is very much ahead of the game. The camera room has enough stations for up to 12 photographers to charge, clean and manage their equipment. It’s located on the main deck, behind the indoor dining room. The huge sundeck has plenty of shaded areas and more than enough sunbeds. And you can enjoy a massage there or in your cabin.

sundeck liveaboard IndonesiaDining on the delicious food, relaxing and enjoying drinks are vital aspects of a luxurious scuba diving liveaboard cruise. White Manta ticks all the right boxes in this regard. The head chef is from Thailand, and guests are guaranteed to put on a little weight during a cruise due to the large amounts of delicious food served up to five times every day. Fruit, snacks and most non-alcoholic drinks are available at all times for free, and there is a bar with beer and wines. Wining and dining can be enjoyed in the large and comfortable air-conditioned dining room and lounge saloon or in several locations out on deck, while admiring the view. Most special dietary needs can be catered for upon request, and the sumptuous food is a wonderful blend of Asian and western cuisine.

Unlike most other purpose-built liveaboard boats, the diving from White Manta is done from the four motorised tenders. This enables divers to enter the dive site in exactly the right spot and gives more space on the ship. There’s a clean-air Nitrox system, three compressors, a wide range of high-quality rental diving equipment, and a full range of safety and communication equipment. With the 450hp Cummins engines, White Manta can easily cruise at 10 knots, enabling it to offer guests the opportunity to dive at all the best locations with maximum convenience.

Itinerary

Booking / Enquiry

MV White Manta has several itineraries, some of which appear to be the same. The boat visits some areas for longer and shorter trips, giving more or fewer diving days. Please check carefully that you're looking at the correct itinerary for your chosen trip. You can do this by clicking 'view itinerary' on the trip's dates in the schedule section.

'Crossing trips' are trips that start in one location and end in another. These trips tend to have maximum 3 dives on some days, but this can sometimes be 4 dives, depending on the location.

On nearly all cruises there are often treks, hikes and beach visits that are not listed here.

White Manta trips depart in the afternoon, and on most they plan to do a 'check dive' on that day.

Departure is after breakfast on the final day, and the itineraries are designed to allow you to fly on departure day, while safely observing the 24-hour no-fly period.

The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

Courses

PADI diving courses are avaiable on White Manta, but not all courses are available on every cruise, and it's important to pre-book.

Learning to dive (PADI Open Water Course) may only certify you to take part in some of the dives on eeach cruise, due to the more-challenging and depper dives being unsuitable for newly-certified divers.
